2017 Dates: August 21st-25th
Space is limited! The C.A.M.P. program is only offered to active Speech Language Pathology in Motion clients.
In this program, children are encouraged to Communicate, Articulate, Make Friends and Play through interactions with animals and a number of exciting activities including horseback riding, swimming, arts & crafts, language games, sensory play, playground and group lunch. Each activity is led by a licensed speech language pathologist.
2-3 goals are selected for each child, and these goals are targeted throughout each activity, all week long. In addition general goals such as socialization, eye contact and attention are targeted for all participants. Targeting speech and language skills in this setting makes learning fun. Participants develop critical speech and language skills, while also having a positive summer experience.
The week long speech and language enrichment program is offered by Speech Language Pathology in Motion and hosted by Pal-O-Mine Equestrian. Together we work to help children improve their speech and language skills in a fun environment with a “camp like” feel.
In addition, the program serves as a learning experience for future speech language pathologists. Our group leaders, group supports and 1:1 aides are currently studying speech language pathology. We are so excited to have future speech language pathologists as part of this program, as this not only gives our participants the opportunity to work with these skilled individuals, but also allows the future speech language pathologists to gain hands on experience with children with speech and language difficulties and learn from fully licensed SLPs. If you are a speech language pathology student who is interested in completing this week long internship please send your resume to firstname.lastname@example.org
Join us for this fun filled week on a beautiful farm setting on the property of Pal-O-Mine Equestrian in Islandia NY!
