Dive Into Communication Success with Speech in the Pool

Are you looking for a fun, effective, and innovative way to boost communication skills?

We offer speech-language therapy sessions in the pool. Water-based therapy combines the benefits of traditional speech therapy with the unique sensory and motor advantages of a pool setting.

Whether your child is working on articulation, language development, social skills, or fluency, the water provides a calm, supportive  environment to foster progress.

How can working in the pool enhance outcomes in speech therapy?

  • Sensory Input: The gentle resistance and soothing pressure of water help regulate  sensory systems, promoting focus and engagement.
  • Improved Confidence: The fun and relaxed atmosphere of the pool encourages children to take risks and communicate more freely.
  • Strength & Coordination: Water movement supports motor planning and breath control, which are key for speech clarity.
  • Whole-Body Learning: Combining speech goals with physical activity boosts  brain-body connections for more dynamic progress.
  • It's fun!  For many clients, speech therapy in the pool is more fun and motivating than therapy seated at a table.

What Happens during a speech session in the pool?

Our sessions are filled with interactive games, movement activities, and communication-focused tasks tailored to each client's goals—all while safely enjoying the water!

Sessions in the pool are suitable for children of all ages and abilities. We use an outdoor pool. Sessions in the pool are weather dependent and are offered June through August.

Some clients opt to add extra sessions in the pool in the summer months, while others opt to switch to pool sessions on hot summer days.

In the event that it is not a "pool day"on the day of your session, the session will take place in our clinic instead to allow for continued progress.
